A year after the investment approval our new project is now taking form.
The infrastructures and logistic set up have been carefully and accurately prepared and we are ready for the placement of the press brake, which will in fact be installed at our headquarters in a few days.
The three metre deep pit to house the press is ready, the surrounding spaces have been cleared and the necessary connections have been made so everything is ready for the handling operations and final positioning of the machine, in line with the production flow.
The machine is a hydraulic press brake of over one thousand tons with a six metre working length.
The main characteristic, in addition to the tonnage, is its direct bending capacity required for example to close the segments of the arms that make up a hydraulic crane, without the need for counter bending. Avoiding counter bending means eliminating the risk of weakening the structure, especially as regards those with high and very high yield strength limit.
The press has in fact been developed from a customised design in order to optimise production efficiency as regards the manufacture of bent pieces and closed profiles, ready to be welded without further processing, which is otherwise often required; in this way the working time and press loading and unloading operations are also optimised.

The overall weight of the press is 175 tons, without the hydraulic oil and the additional components required for efficient processing. It has an extremely solid structure and the structural components are slightly oversized to guarantee both sturdiness and safety, as the work required is demanding and repetitive. Safety is also guaranteed by systems that have already been tested on other machines.
This imposing machine, alone, will be the heart and soul of a separate sector dedicated mainly to forming boxed segments for the composition of arms, which are the parts of lifting systems that are mostly subjected to stress. The forming operations will be simplified thanks to the possibility of directly bending the booms and thanks to a semi-automatic extractor that will favour the output of the closed segment, without the need for any further process to complete the piece.
It will be possible to carry out cold bending operations on steels with high and very high mechanical characteristics, up to a nominal yield strength limit of 1300 Mpa. A wide range of bends will be available, starting from simple U shaped items to the composition of decagonal sections.
Venturi Acciai has high expectations for this press and it is certain that the advantages that this machine will offer to its customers will repay the financial investment made at a time that is not particularly favourable in economic terms.
We are ready to meet the requests for the production of crane arms, bent pieces and closed profiles and forming of boxed segments for the composition of arms.
The press assembly stage will take a month and it will be followed by a series of tests, therefore the machine will be operational at the beginning of the summer. Before the inauguration we will prepare detailed documentation to inform all those interested about the new working possibilities available with this new press, guaranteeing as always reliability and efficiency.
